meaning of a poet

Wars, conflicts, epidemics and the political situation in general have torn apart many friendships.  Sometimes they even destroy a marriage.

Not long ago, an internet friend blocked me because of a disagreement about a world conflict.

A feeling of loneliness fills me.  Not only are innocent people dying in pain on both sides of the conflict, but friendships are also falling apart.

Each isolates himself deeper into himself and prepares a dagger for the other in the secret of his room.

And the writer often wakes up from these feelings.

 His only friends are books

 Written by other lonely people

So, for example, Dostoevsky wrote to have money for gambling, which he used to soothe his torn soul.

Or Kafka, who was suffocated by concoctions and a bad premonition of an impending tragedy and wrote to entertain himself and his friends.

Sometimes I wonder what happens after death.  I am so curious.  Sometimes I find life unbearable and I wonder what it's like to end it prematurely.  But of course I'm afraid of that, moreover, many clergymen claim that suicide is a great sin and who knows what kind of hell will start for people who do so.

On the other hand, there are people who, for example, have schizophrenia and hear voices that make them want to kill other people.  If such a person knows that he will definitely do such thing, suicide on his part would be heroic.

The doctrine of death is called eschatology.  It means the science of the end.  But how do we know that life really ends with death?

And what does such science offer us?  Scientific observation.  For example, during the French Revolution, they told people to blink as long as possible after cutting off the head, in order to find out how long a person is still conscious after the head is severed from the body.  It was found that about five seconds.   I don't know why anyone wanted to cooperate with their killers, but maybe they agreed to this experiment in the name of science.

But is this even any good in this world?

Or eschatology can offer us different religious ideas about life after death.  This also certainly includes experiences with LSD or clinical death.

Knowing a lot, reading a lot, learning as much as possible about this life and death will not necessarily bring us knowledge or happiness.  They don't necessarily have to reveal secrets and help remove our pain.  Maybe the good old classic works better for that.  Go for a walk somewhere in the sun and fresh air, pet the dog, be aware of your breath, smile...

When Confucius was asked what he thought about spirits, he only said that he did not know enough even about this life here on earth, so how could he be interested in the world beyond this life and death?

Eckhart Tolle, claims that when the Buddha was asked about the existence of God, he answered with sublime silence.

In our globalized world, when the West can no longer ignore the East or look down on it, perhaps there is a possibility of a middle way.

Learn about these things and feel your emotions.  Both the sad ones and the happy ones.  Observe them.  But don't forget to go to the sun, breathe and keep that noble silence.
