Invitation into the now

Isn't it a paradox that when you cease to add anything to what you experience at the moment, the moment itself isn't so boring anymore? If the present moment was a place the commercials to attract tourists would have to say something like:

"Leave the thoughts about future and past and visit the present moment. It offers various body sensations like colours and sounds. Take a plunge and dive into the unknown!"

It is interesting that anything we experience in our thoughts is so different from the things we experience with our senses. Prehaps you want to become this or that but you know that you will first need this or that to do it or go through many steps to finaly achieve the desired thing or state. When you finaly get to start taking the necessary steps though, the sensational experiences are very different from the image you had in your mind.

Why don't we ever use the things we already have by our side? Why don't we appreciate them? Of course, it is not exactly what we had in mind and pursuing it, seems to be a way into unknown. But wouldn't it be unknown, it wouldn't be life.
